We are a public facilitator for this course mandatory by AGLC.

All service providers will be required to be trained and certified by 2010

Courses will be posted monthly, if by chance the listed dates do not meet you needs.

Registration and payment must be made with AGLC and within deadlines and requirements. There is a window of consideration for registration, 2-3 weeks for private seminars. Contact us (A&S) as soon as possible for explanation and guidelines.

Section 31 of the Alberta Public Health Act Food Regulation requires the following:

If six or more food handlers are working on the premises at one time (including chefs, cooks, kitchen helpers and servers), at least one manager with provincial certification must be on site at all times.

If five or less food handlers are working at one time, at least one manager must have provincial certification.

If you own more than one facility you must employ a separate manager with provincial certification for each site.

If your food facility serves or sells only unpackaged food that is not potentially hazardous, you are not required to have provincial certification.

If your facility deals only with pre-packaged goods (no opening of packages or sampling occurs on site), you are not required to have provincial certification.

CRFA(Canadian Restaurant & Foodservices Association) developed the National Food Safety Tra ining Program in response to a growing demand for food safety training that meets the needs of foodservice operators from coast-to-coast.

NFSTP is accredited by all Canadian Health Authorities that require food handler certification.

Alberta Heath and Wellness has announced changes to the Provincial Food Safety Education Program. Independent Trainers (those not using accredited programs like NFSTP) will have to become accreditedand use an approved program such as NFSTP or apply to have their own course accredited by Alberta Health and Wellness.
